LogicMonitor has officially released the 2026 SRE Report, capturing technical insights from over 400 Site Reliability Engineering professionals across the globe during July and August.

Uneven Toil Reduction and Reactive Chaos Engineering

The study indicates that median toil still consumes a substantial 34% of engineers’ daily hours. While 49% of respondents report that AI tools have successfully reduced repetitive toil, others report zero change or increased burden.

Crucially, the report highlights that only 17% of organizations run chaos or resilience experiments regularly in production. This underscores a widening divide between mature, proactive reliability teams and highly reactive engineering organizations.
