EU AI Act High-Risk System Mandates Take Effect

Published on:

On August 2, 2026, Article 10 of the European Union’s AI Act became fully enforceable, representing a watershed moment for regulatory compliance in artificial intelligence across Europe.

Documented Data Governance and Dataset Access Controls

Providers and deployers of high-risk AI systems must now implement documented, auditable data governance practices. These cover training data quality assessment, rigorous bias examination, and fine-grained data access controls.

Under Regulation (EU) 2024/1689, non-compliance with these newly active high-risk obligations can result in severe financial penalties of up to €15 million or 3% of global annual turnover, forcing tech giants to restructure their model-training boundaries.
