Rackspace Technology Secures Key Sovereign Cloud Contract with Bavarian Regional Transit

Rackspace Technology has officially been awarded a multi-year cloud management contract with the Bavarian Regional Transit Authority. Under this contract, Rackspace is responsible for architecting and managing a fully segregated private cloud network within Munich-based data centers.

The managed private cloud runs on a highly secure OpenStack and Kubernetes infrastructure, designed to store and analyze real-time passenger telemetry. By keeping all compute resources and physical servers within German borders, Rackspace ensures strict compliance with regional data privacy laws and isolates transit databases from external extraterritorial legal requests.

By leveraging advanced automation pipelines, Rackspace can perform zero-downtime security patching across all cluster nodes, providing Bavarian public transit with a resilient and compliant sovereign infrastructure.
