Rackspace Technology Deploys 30MW Governed AI Cloud in Partnership with AMD

Rackspace Technology has announced the successful completion of a massive 30-megawatt (MW) deployment of its Governed AI cloud infrastructure, developed in strategic partnership with AMD. This new environment, powered by AMD Instinct™ GPUs and EPYC™ CPUs, is specifically designed to meet the rigorous demands of enterprises in highly regulated industries such as finance, healthcare, and government. By providing a secure and sovereign platform, Rackspace enables organizations to train and deploy large-scale generative AI models while maintaining absolute control over their data residency and compliance requirements.

The deployment marks a significant expansion of Rackspace’s ‘Foundry for AI’ (FAIR™) initiative, which provides end-to-end services to help companies accelerate their AI adoption. The Governed AI cloud offers high-performance compute resources tailored for AI workloads, combined with Rackspace’s deep expertise in hybrid and multicloud management. This combination allows customers to bridge the gap between experimental AI prototypes and production-ready applications, ensuring that their AI initiatives are scalable, secure, and aligned with corporate governance standards.

This partnership with AMD is a cornerstone of Rackspace’s strategy to lead the market in sovereign AI solutions. By utilizing AMD’s open-software ecosystem and energy-efficient hardware, Rackspace is able to offer a competitive and high-performance alternative to traditional public cloud AI services. The 30MW deployment is already being utilized by several early-adopter enterprises that require the highest levels of data privacy and computational power to drive their digital transformation goals in the burgeoning AI era.
